What you’ll do

We are looking for someone to be our Swiss Army knife for all hardware and electronics. As an engineer at RF Labs, you’ll be responsible for the physical and technical aspects of our products, networks, and installations.

• Hardware design: Work on table physical design including RFID antennas, control box electronics, and A/V systems.
• Prototyping: Build and test rapid prototypes using CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, electronics, and off-the-shelf components to validate concepts before production.
• Research and development: Conduct R&D for future products including physical product design, new game verticals, new tracking mechanisms, electrical component designs, and optimizing table performance.
• Networking and A/V: Handle customer locations’ networking, installation processes, and audio/video setups.
• Logistics: Manage shipping and installation logistics across all global hardware deployments.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a hands-on mechatronics engineer with experience in mechanical design, electrical engineering, programming, and technical problem-solving. The ideal candidate should have:

• High agency: You find the problems worth solving and own them through the outcome. Some weeks that means building in a lab. Some weeks it means working directly with the customer to perfect a product.
• Technical expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical design, networking, and electrical engineering. Ability to CAD is necessary, while programming and PCB design abilities are also preferred.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize system performance based on existing infrastructure.
• Equipment and tools: Ability to handle equipment installation and manage logistics to procure custom manufactured products. Experience with power tools, 3D printing, laser cutting, water jetting, welding, and soldering is preferred.
• Proven experience making physical things: Show us products, internships, shop work, field work, or personal projects. One thing you actually shipped tells us more than a résumé does.
• Attention to detail: You notice the cable that will get kicked, the part that will fail, or the finish that looks cheap under venue lights, and it bothers you until it is fixed.
• AI-pilled: You use AI tools to learn faster, explore ideas, and ship better work. You still bring your own judgment about what should exist.
• Collaborative and flexible mindset: Ready to work with a small, fast-paced team on a variety of problems that will change on a day-to-day basis.
